Classic Almond Buttercrunch

Buttercrunch...such a seductive jewel of a candy. It starts with fresh butter and sugar, slowly caramelized over an open flame until the molten golden mixture reaches a precise temperature. We add fresh almonds and then carefully pour this liquid gold onto a cooling slab. It's quickly spread and marked by hand. When it's cool, each little square is snapped apart and gilded with a coat of rich dark chocolate and heavenly bits of toasted almonds, transforming it into a little jewel for your taste buds. Sometimes these gems are called English Toffee.
